About Me
I am Lauren McDonald, currently a junior at Castilleja School. Prior to this, I spent a decade at Saint Andrew's Episcopal School in Saratoga California. My professional pursuits reflect a diverse array of interests and achievements. Proficient in coding languages such as Python, Swift, and Java since 2017, I am deeply engaged in the fields of technology and robotics. Complementing my technological prowess, I am also a dedicated musician with a lifelong passion for the piano. Trained in classical piano since the age of five, I have significantly contributed to my school's musical ensemble, accruing two Certificates of Merit along the way. Furthermore, I actively participate in extracurricular activities, including track and robotics, where I continuously strive for excellence and collaborative success.
During my leisure hours, I am passionately engaged in educational initiatives. I dedicate my time to teaching children coding skills through an online platform I founded, www.kidswholike2code.com. This endeavor allows me to share my knowledge and foster a love for technology in younger generations.
Recently, I authored a children's book centered on coding, titled "Coding Alphabet," available on Amazon. This project emerged from my desire to make coding concepts accessible and engaging for young minds. Through storytelling and interactive elements, the book aims to ignite curiosity and inspire future innovators in the field of technology.
These experiences have not only deepened my understanding of coding but also reinforced my commitment to education and community outreach. As I transition to college, I am eager to continue exploring opportunities to merge my passions for technology, education, and creative expression.
